Fantastic Five: Worst ’90s Costumes

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.

The '90s were a time of wild experimentation for superhero comics. It's just that the nature of all the experiments was along the line of, "How many pouches can I fit on this thigh?" and, "How many blades can one man bear?" or, "What if a gun were made of concrete?"

The popularity of the aesthetic of certain artists whose names need not be mentioned meant that even the icons of the genre found themselves getting updated for the chromium generation. This video takes a look at classic characters whose redesigned costumes will make you go, "Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?"

Some of you were there and will remember these hard times. Others of you, the children, must take these tragic events to heart that we may never experience them again.
