The trailer for Spider-Man: Edge of Time was one of the things most talked about on the floor of WonderCon 2011, and now you can check it out right here at ComicsAlliance. Developed by Beenox, creators of the much loved Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, the new game puts the classic Peter Parker Spider-Man in direct contact with Miquel O'Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, as they race to restore the proper course of history. The game is due to release this Fall.

According to our friends at Joystiq, the mechanics and narrative of Spider-Man: Edge of Time are such that during play as either character, you see what the other Spidey is up to via a pop-up picture window at the bottom of your screen. What your counterpart is doing in his timeline will influence the narrative of yours. For example, when Spider-Man 2099 finds himself in battle with a giant robot, the Spider-Man of today can cause damage to the lab in which that robot's technology was developed, causing a ripple through the timeline that results in that enemy becoming far less dangerous to Spider-Man 2099. Various story devices dictate when and where you switch characters, who have their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
