Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed two new pre-order bonuses for Batman: Arkham Knight, and longtime Caped Crusader fans might enjoy them. Pre-ordering Batman: Arkham Knight will now score you updated versions of the Batman Beyond and The Dark Knight Returns skins, which you may have seen in Arkham City.

A new advertisement on Arkham Knight's Steam page revealed these two new skins, but it did not specify whether or not these costumes will be exclusive to the PC version of the game. There are already the Harley Quinn and Red Hood DLC packs available as pre-order bonuses for the game (the Red Hood content is a GameStop exclusive). We have to admit that we're not particularly fond of Batman Beyond's new look; it's an interesting interpretation of the costume, but we still prefer the character's original design.

In Batman Beyond, Terry McGinnis became the Dark Knight of the future, aided by an elderly Bruce Wayne (who should be played by Clint Eastwood if a Batman Beyond movie were to ever happen). Beyond's 1999 cartoon series and its spin-off comic series prove that, even in the distant future, Gotham still needs Batman.

Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns tells the story of a 55-year-old Bruce Wayne, who has come out of his past decade of retirement to become the Batman once again. This near-future version of Batman is quite different than McGinnis'. Bruce faces a world where superherodom is outlawed, culminating with Superman (now an agent/tool of the U.S. government) fighting Bruce Wayne in one of the greatest fights in comic book history.

Additionally, Sony revealed its exclusive content with a new trailer today. PlayStation 4 players will get the Justice League 3000 Batman skin for free, which features a red and black costume scheme. You'll also have access to the Scarecrow Nightmare Missions, where you must fight your way through some fear toxin-induced hallucinations while riding the Batmobile. We have to admit, those Scarecrow sequences look rather amazing. Lastly, we have the Batman 66 Batman and Batmobile Skins. This content will give both Batman and the Batmobile a retro makeover, paying tribute to the 1966 TV series that introduced so many of us to the Caped Crusader. Watching this Batman skin in action looks astonishing — it's as if Adam West himself returned to save Gotham.
