The Birds of Prey’s Wonderfully Risque ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’ Tune [Video]

The Birds of Prey are a confident bunch, with a lineup of ladies expressively in charge of their sexuality, but did you ever think you'd get the inside scoop on their superheroic rendezvous from their "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" counterparts?

In this past weekend's episode, "The Mask of Matches Malone," Batman got knocked on the head and came to believe that he was a gangster. Since the Caped Crusader never fails at anything he puts his mind to, he subsequently built up a criminal empire worthy of even his toughest rogues. Catwoman, Black Canary and Huntress team up to bring some order to town, forming the Birds of Prey (which is perfect as this episode was written by "BoP" scribe Gail Simone). The trio breaks into a nightclub, where Amnesia-Stricken-Bruce is holding court, and make the most of being trapped on stage by breaking into a wonderfully risque tune.

I know that shows like "Animaniacs" used to squeeze scads of racy material into their episodes, but at least that was veiled. The bedroom references in the BoP's tune are right there on the surface (and very cruel to Aquaman). I can just picture kids watching happily and obliviously while their parents behind them shift uncomfortably on the couch.

Still, you gotta love it when heroes break into song. Fans will witness another musical foray on the upcoming episode "Emperor Joker," airing on October 9, on Cartoon Network. "The Brave and the Bold" set its musical bar extremely high in 2009's "Mayhem of the Music Meister" episode starring Neil Patrick Harris and has continued to churn out enjoyable (if highly suggestive) numbers ever since.
