If you're anything like me, I'm sure that you've come to a time when you've said to yourself "Chris [or whatever your name is], I like print versions of webcomics about stick figures, but are there any out there that aren't just about math and fedoras, or dragons and dungeons?" We've all been there, right? And the answer, of course, is yes: There's Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, Matt Melvin and Dave McElfatrick's Cyanide & Happiness, set to release its latest collection, Punching Zoo, in July from Boom! Studios and its Boom! Box imprint.

The collection will include a selection of "best of" strips that have run on the web and a solid handful of bonus features, but the big news here is that this is the first Cyanide & Happiness collection published by someone other than the creators.

Along with Ryan North, Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb's Midas Flesh and the recent Lumberjanes, Cyanide & Happiness is taking its place as the latest offering from Boom!'s new creator-owned line. That in itself is pretty interesting, just in the way that the Boom! Box is expanding not just into original creator-owned titles, but also reprints of existing material. It's a pretty quick, aggressive bit of expansion, too -- Midas Flesh launched the line only six months ago.

As for Punching Zoo itself, an amazing title reflected on the cover by a giraffe eating a trampoline-aided Shoryuken uppercut, the collection will contain a full 30 new comics for the printed edition, as well as a bonus section called "The Hot Date" that's set up as a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure. Readers will be faced with choices as they try to find romantic success, and based on my familiarity with the strip, I'm going to guess that it's not going to work out well for any set of options.

The book will, of course, also collect comics that have run at the Cyanide & Happiness website, and although the exact number has not been confirmed, the exact wording of the official solicitation refers to it as "a buttload."

Cynaide & Happiness: Punching Zoo is out from Boom! Box in July.
