Writer/artist Marc Silvestri is taking his long-running series Cyber Force full cyber.
The latest two trade paperbacks of the series --- which include the first ten issues of the fourth volume, which kicked off in 2012 --- have been digitally reformatted for the LINE Webtoon platform, and are available now. They're meant to serve as a lead-in to all-new Cyber Force comics launching exclusively through LINE Webtoon this fall, with Silvestri working alongside writer and Top Cow President Matt Hawkins, who also co-wrote the most recent iteration of the series.
At its panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, Top Cow unveiled three new titles, Blood Stain, Romulus and Symmetry, that touch on the sci-fi and conspiracy genres from creators Linda Sejic, Bryan Hill and Nelson Blake, and Matt Hawkins and Raff Ienco.
The publisher also announced a Kickstarter to fund a comic book that coincides with a multimedia project about a "human-reaper hybrid" called September Mourning. The book is from a concept by Emily Lazar and Marc Silvestri, and will be written by Mariah McCourt with art by Silvestri and Summeye Kesgin.
This weekend saw the annual Glyph Awards Ceremony take place in Philadelphia, at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention. The awards champion and celebrate the best in comics made by, for, and about Black people, although the nominations are not exclusively limited to black creators.
A Netflix (or perhaps a Spotify) for comics may have arrived.
Scribd, an online depository of books and audiobooks that gives subscribers unlimited access to a massive library for an $8.99 per month subscription fee, announced today that it has added more than 10,000 comics from publishers including Marvel, Valiant, IDW, Top Shelf, Archie, Boom! Studios, Top Cow, and Arcana to its subscription service.
Stjepan Šejic is an artist who's been on the verge of a breakthrough for a while now -- and he's apparently just had two of them back-to-back. Šejic is an excellent artist, remarkably fast, and by all reports very easy to work with, which means he delivers the trifecta for promising talent.
That talent will be put to excellent use on a book in dire need of a great artist; Šejic has been named as the new permanent artist on Rat Queens, the hit fantasy series from writer Kurtis J. Wiebe and Image's Shadowline imprint. This news comes just a couple of weeks after reports that Šejic's creator-owned erotic graphic novel Sunstone received the highest ever advance orders for any book published by Image's Top Cow imprint.
Each week, ComicsAlliance’s Chris Sims and Matt Wilson host the War Rocket Ajax podcast, their online audio venue for interviews with comics creators, reviews of the books of the week, and whatever else they want to talk about. This week, Chris and Matt start off by gushing about Grayson #2 by Tim Seeley, Tom King, and Mikel Janin. Then, they do pretty much the opposite to Genius #1 by Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman and Afua Richardson. Then, it's back to gushing about Moon Knight #6 by Warren Ellis, Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire!
