DC Teases ‘Second Wave’ of New 52 Titles With ‘Leaked’ Preview Images

We’re just weeks away from the launch of the “second wave” of DC Comics’ New 52, and to mark the occasion, the publisher had released all manner of new art from the six new series making their debut in May, both on their official blog and via carefully orchestrated “leaks” to another website. The “second wave” of the New 52 sees six new ongoing series – Batman Incorporated, Dial H, Earth 2, G.I. Combat, The Ravagers and Worlds’ Finest – replace the just-canceled Blackhawks, Hawk & Dove, Men of War, Mister Terrific, O.M.A.C. and Static Shock on the schedule, keeping the 13-books-per-week rotation alive while expanding the scope of the rebooted DC universe with not one, but two books rooted in the “multiverse” concept (Earth 2 and Worlds’ Finest). On the DC blog, these books were offered a spotlight with Earth 2 artist Nicola Scott talking about “everything [being] up for grabs” in her book, while Bryan Hitch’s return to DC was unveiled with a look at his variant cover to Earth 2 #1.

Perhaps more interesting were the “leaked” photos previewing other titles in the second wave that appeared on Buzzfeed a couple of days ago, showing development and design sketches as well as finished artwork from titles like Dial H and The Ravagers (If you’re wondering how so much of the material made it online intact considering DC’s usual control over such material, it’s worth noting that the site admits, “we were kindly invited to take these pics.”

Does seeing this art make you want to pick up the new titles, or were you already sold on the idea of China Miéville’s take on Dial H even before you saw “Boy Chimney”?
