One of the biggest strides in the comic industry over the past decade has come in the form of a wave of exciting and accessible educational comics by established creators. It's something that First Second has noticed too, as the publisher is throwing its weight behind its established line of Science Comics and announcing 13 more titles in the series, covering a wide range of topics, from cats and dogs to robots and drones.

Announced today via LiveScience, the new slate of books covers all sorts of topics including animals, weather patterns and machinery. In keeping with the previous titles in the series, First Second have recruited some of the best in the business: The ever prolific Andy Hirsch will be contributing three books to the line, DogsCats and Trees and rising star Mairghread Scott will work with Jacob Chabot on Robots and Drones.

"Dogs" (Andy Hirsch)

MK Reed, who already released Dinosaurs: Fossils and Feathers as one of the line's launch titles, returns for Weather with Jonathan Hill and Crows with Kyla Vanderklugt. The line also features work from the likes of Joe Flood, Jerzy Drozd, Anne Drozd and Dan Zettwoch, among others.
