If you were to ask the average resident of the Hyborian age what the biggest problem facing them in their day-to-day lives was, I have to imagine that the overwhelming response would be "an evil sorceror is trying to murder and/or enslave me." Unless, of course, your sample population included a lot of evil sorcerors, in which case their biggest problem would be that some gigantic dude in a tiny loincloth was always waking him up bellowing about Crom and then trying to put the pointy end of a sword into some of his organs.

What I'm getting at here is that evil sorcery is a problem for the people of that age undreamt of, and apparently it's gotten so bad that one Hyborian hero is no longer enough to stop them. That's why in January, we're getting a team-up in the form of Conan/Red Sonja, in which a pretty fantastic creative team of Gail Simone, Jim Zub and Dan Panosian are teaming up the two heroes to stop -- you guessed it -- evil sorcery.

This isn't the first time that the two characters have joined forces, of course. Red Sonja even made her first appearance all the way back in an issue of Conan way back in 1973, and since then, they've been linked pretty commonly. In recent years, though, the two characters have been licensed to different publishers, so it's been a while since we've seen a good ol' fashioned chainmail bikini vs. tiny, tiny loincloth throwdown.
