Gerard Way Unveils Previously Unseen ‘Umbrella Academy’ Sketchbook Images

Hotel Oblivion

We’ve been waiting a long time for the third volume of The Umbrella Academy, “Hotel Oblivion.” It was first announced in 2009, initially scheduled for last year, and now it appears to be “a really long time” before it’s published, given writer Gerard Way’s plans to move away from comics to focus on music.

And yet Way still teases us. In a series of tweets over the weekend, the writer posted items from his Umbrella Academy (once known as The Umbrella Brigade) sketchbook — of early shots of the team, unused characters, and more. Check out what he had to offer after the jump.
