‘Gotham’ Photos Show Lori Petty Looking an Awful Lot Like Joker and Harley

FOX’s Gotham may have beefed up its Bat-cred to introduce Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze, but may always have something of grey (er, green) area when it comes to proto-Jokers. We’ve seen one laughed off already, but new photos from an upcoming hour feature Orange is the New Black star Lori Petty looking an awful lot like the Clown Prince of Crime. Harley too!

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, as Petty’s casting was announced months earlier as “Jerri,” described as the “flamboyant and enigmatic hostess of an underground club where mass murder and art are celebrated in equal measure.” That said, our first photos from March 14 outing “This Ball of Mud and Meanness” sees the so-called Jerri’s costume borrowing quite a bit from The Joker and Harley Quinn.

So reads the official synopsis:

Alfred and Selina help Bruce on his quest to find his parents’ killer, Matches Malone (guest star Michael Bowen). Meanwhile, Gordon follows up with Edward Nygma on Kristen Kringle’s whereabouts and Hugo Strange (guest star BD Wong) continues his treatment to reduce Penguin’s aggression.

It isn’t clear for the moment if “Jerri” or her club have anything to do with the the so-called “Joker Virus” unleashed with the death of Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome, but will Gotham spend its entire run teasing Jokers and Harleys with wild abandon?
