Whatever your feelings on FOX’s Gotham, the Bat-prequel drama certainly crammed in a number of recognizable Dark Knight names, occasionally in tyke form. That trend looks to continue in Season 2, as Gotham adds a Goldbergs star as young Master Bruce’s new “love interest,” Silver St. Cloud.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Natalie Alyn Lind will appear in the recurring role of Silver St. Cloud, an occasional love interest of Bruce Wayne’s from the comics, albeit here presented far younger. Gotham Season 2 will introduce the character as “an ethereal beauty with the pristine manners of a Gotham debutante,” who similarly lost her parents at a young age.

After befriending Bruce (forgive us, but the “love interest” suggestion seems a bit off), Silver also introduces Bruce to her uncle Theo Galavan (True Detective star James Frain), a billionaire philanthropist with a dark streak running for city Mayor. Bruce apparently takes to Theo as another surrogate father figure, though it’s Silver whom the report describes as “having a heart beating with dark intent.”

Elsewhere of Gotham Season 2, we know the second run will make series regulars of Chris Chalk’s Lucius Fox, Nicholas D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent, and Morena Baccarin’s Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Producers will incorporate such Bat-baddies as Clayface, the Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange, Tommy Elliot, and potentially even the Court of Owls, while early episodes will serve as a “pre-embryonic” (sigh) origin story for the Joker.

In addition to Lind and Frain’s role, Gotham Season 2 will also feature Jessica Lucas as Galavan’s sister (and future Tigress) Tabitha, along with Dustin Ybarra as a homicidal cannibal.

Gotham Season 2 will return on Mondays this fall, but what can we make of Bruce’s new friend? Could Selina Kyle have some competition for the future Batman’s attention?
