We here at ComicsAlliance have been waiting eagerly more information about Boom Studios upcoming WWE comic, and with New York Comic Con just a week away, more information is trickling in. Next year will see the release of an ongoing titled WWE, starring all your favorite superstars, with the first arc centered on Seth Rollins' return from injury, as told by Dennis Hopeless and Eduard Petrovich.

The story will likely spin out of the upcoming WWE: Then Now Forever one-shot, in which Hopeless and Dan Mora detail the break-up of The Shield. The new ongoing mentions Seth Rollins back on the hunt for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and a collision with his former brothers in The Shield, so it's likely the story will be set prior to the triple threat match at Battleground 2016.

If you're still not satisfied, then don't you dare be sour. Clap for your world famous two time champs and feel the power, because WWE #1 also features a back-up starring The New Day, yes it does. Written by Ross Thibodeaux, with art by Rob Guillory, there are no superstars on the WWE roster more suited to comic books than The New Day, and as seen from promotional art from the announcement, Guillory is the perfect choice to draw them.

The first story arcs detail the “Breaking of The Shield.”
Seth Rollins. Roman Reigns. Dean Ambrose. Together they formed The Shield, one of the most dominant factions in WWE history—until the ultimate opportunist Seth chose to betray the group at the behest of Triple H, the “King of Kings” who has cemented himself as the authority in control of WWE.
Now, following a near career-ending injury, Seth is back on the hunt for the WWE Championship, a journey that will send him on a collision course with his former brothers…
Includes a backup story starring The New Day by Ross Thibodeaux (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 Annual) and Rob Guillory (Chew).
