There's going to be a lot of toys on the shelves both before and after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2, but only one is going to come with a puffer vest. Hot Toys has just released scads of press images for its new 1/6 scale collectible figure of the latest cinematic incarnation of the webslinger and on top of its array of superheroic accessories, it'll come dressed for success (at not being cold).

Set to arrive in the second or third quarter of 2014, the ASM2 figure will come with six pairs of variably posed hands. On the webbing front, the figure will be packed with four long web effect pieces, two swinging web effect pieces and two shooting web effect pieces. The figure will also sport some civilian duds including red boots, a vest, a scarf, a beanie, a backpack and a megaphone. All this can be popped atop the figure's diamond-shaped stand bearing Spidey's name, the ASM2 logo and a Spider-Man emblem paper cover. A special edition version of the figure will come with a 1/6th scale plutonium canister and an additional "Spider-Man artwork cover for dynamic figure stand" pack-in.

Accessory-wise, this new figure is a bit of an upgrade from the previous Hot Toys The Amazing Spider-Man figure, although the previous version did come with a swappable head depicting the likeness of actor Andrew Garfield.

The only major strike against this figure is that it seems to lack a skateboard. Hot Toys, surely you'll address this with a reissue???

The standard version of the figure is currently going for $229.99 at sites like Sideshow Collectibles, with the exclusive version packing the plutonium canister going for the same amount.
