As a kid, there are few things more thrilling than the idea of actually being friends with your favorite comic book characters. I mean, let's be real here, I'm 33 years old and I'm still obsessed with being Batman's best friend, so I can only imagine how exciting it must be to actually have something like that come along. For one young fan, though, there's no imagination necessary.

In the second issue of Ian McGinty's Welcome to Showside, there's a new member of the main characters' group of friends named Tolouse --- and he's based on a real-life fan of the book named Patrick, who's probably having a pretty cool week.

Patrick met McGinty at Kansas City Comic-Con, and McGinty was so impressed by his enthusiasm for comics that he based a character in his first creator-owned comic on his look. Check out Toulouse's introduction below!

Here's the official information on Welcome to Showside #2:

What day is it? Beach Day! Come enjoy sun, surf, and sand with Kit, Belle, and Moon, the coolest kids in Showside! The only thing you need to watch out for are jellyfish, Chad Chaddington (the biggest jerk in town) and super evil artifacts from the Nexus!

Welcome to Showside #2 hits shelves this Wednesday, November 25, but if you can't wait to see more of it, there's a cool little cartoon version too --- and it features the voice of Henry Rollins!
