‘Steve Ditko’s Monsters, Vol. 1: Gorgo’ Delivers Classic Kaiju Goodness [Preview]

Most fans know Steve Ditko as the artist who co-created Spider-Man with Stan Lee, but his career in comics and the wider world of illustration not only could fill dozens of tomes, but, well, totally does fill several tomes! The latest look inside the prolific artist's portfolio comes via IDW's new Steve Ditko's Monsters, Vol. 1: Gorgo collection by Ditko and writer Joe Gill. Curated, edited and designed by Craig Yoe, the 224-page hardcover showcases Ditko and Gill's take on Godzilla's British spiritual counterpart Gorgo as he lays waste to major cities with his lively lizardly look in full effect. Originally published by Charlton following the 1961 release of the Gorgo film, the Gorgo comic ran for two dozen issues in its heyday.
