In just over a decade, Boom Studios has established itself as one of the most important publishers in comics, and key to its success is the all-ages Kaboom imprint, headed up by editor Shannon Watters. A former Tokyopop copy editor and assistant editor on titles like Irredeemable and Elric, Watters has been a part of Boom from the ground up, and even with licenses for some of the biggest properties on the planet, Watters and the creators under her have consistently traced their own path, to the delight and benefit of critics and readers.

'Regular Show' Heads Into Space For Eighth And Final Season
The good news is that this Regular Show is heading into outer space when it returns to Cartoon Network for its eighth season on September 26. In "One Space at a Time," the Park and its groundskeeping staff have been blasted off from Earth, and they're going to be staying there for the rest of the season. The bad news, though, is that this is all building to the end of Regular Show. Season Eight will culminate in the series finale.

The second of Boom Studios' Regular Show OGNs hits stands next week, bringing the quirks and fun of the Cartoon Network show to the comics page. Titled Regular Show: Noir Means Noir, Buddy, the book takes Mordecai and Rigby into the world of mysteries and cop dramas. ComicsAlliance spoke with writers Rachel Connor and Robert Luckett about what to expect (hint: it's probably the unexpected). Plus, check out a nine-page preview after the interview!

Boom! Studios has found success with a line of Adventure Time original graphic novels that's being published alongside the ongoing monthly comic, so it was only a matter of time before they expanded that strategy to include Regular Show as well. Now, we're just about to see the first full-color Regular Show graphic novel, Hydration, hitting shelves with a story of everyone's favorite raccoon and bluejay dealing with a heat wave that hits the park, sending them in search of a way to cool off. It's a simple idea, but under Rachel Connor and Tessa Stone, it turns into a sprawling adventure that's full of the magical realism and 8-bit video games that Regular Show fans have come to love. To find out more, I spoke to Connor about the process of creating a story that would be longer and more complicated than any episode of the show, the strange twists that allowed it to expand to a full 155 pages, and why the Baby Ducks just had to make an appearance.

As much as I might identify with Mordecai and Rigby, the two slackers at the center of Cartoon Network's Regular Show, the last few seasons have seen Eileen become my favorite character on the show. Now, my demand for more Eileen-centric media is finally being addressed by the comics in the form of this week's Regular Show #13. Written by Minty Lewis, a storyboard artist for Regular Show and the voice of Eileen, with art by Allison Strejlau, the story finds Eileen heading off for a solo adventure full of palindromes and calm breathing.

Interview: 'Regular Show' Cast & Creators At Comic-Con 2014
The last year of Cartoon Network's Regular Show has brought some pretty huge changes to the lives of everyone's favorite park groundskeepers who just happen to be a raccoon and a bluejay. The departure of Margaret and the reintroduction of CJ, the secret origin of Skips and the introduction of Thomas the Intern have all shaken up life around the park, and it doesn't seem like it's going to stop any time soon. To find out more, I went to San Diego Comic-Con and spoke to J.G. Quintel (show creator and the voice of Mordecai), Sean Szeles (writer and director), Matt Price (writer), Bill Salyers (Rigby), Minty Lewis (storyboard artist and the voice of Eileen) and Roger Craig Smith (Thomas) at Comic-Con International. Find out more about Eileen's rise to prominence, hear hints about Thomas's upcoming role in the spotlight, and witness J.G. Quintel's reaction when I tell him how upset my 63 year-old mother was when Skips' girlfriend died in that flashback. Seriously.

As the band Solid Bold so indelibly noted in their song "Summertime Loving, Loving In The Summer (Time)," "It's Summertime and you know what that means / Gonna head down to the beach, gonna do some beachy things." One of those beachy things could be plopping down on the sand and reading a graphic novel about Regular Show...uh, regulars Mordecai and Rigby trying to figure out how and why a mysterious pool appeared in their park in the midst of a blistering heat wave. That's the premise of the new Boom! Studios graphic novel by Ed, Edd and Eddy writer Rachel Connor and artist Tessa Stone (Bravest Warriors). The beautiful cover above is by Allison Strejlau, artist on the monthly Regular Show series.

Listen, I've never had a job that required being outside. This is my blessing. The closest I've come to that is dragging long boxes out to a van at 8 a.m. so that we can get on the road to convention, and even then, I mostly just stayed inside and pretended to pick things up while secretly playing Ace Attorney games where no one could see me. I was just in it for the breakfast, folks. What I'm get
