Created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, Poison Ivy first graced the comic page back in the historic year of 1966, when The Sound of Music won Best Picture and England somehow won the World Cup. Her first appearance was in Detective Comics #181, and since then the character has remained a constant thorn in the Dark Knight's side.

Some of it’s new, some of it’s old, some of it’s created by working professionals, some of it’s created by future stars, some of it’s created by talented fans, and some of it’s endearingly silly. All of it is awesome.
In the overwhelmingly male comic book industry, it has been a challenge for some editors and readers to see the ever growing number of talented women currently trying to make a name for themselves. With that in mind, ComicsAlliance offers Hire This Woman, a recurring feature designed for comics readers as well as editors and other professionals, where we shine the spotlight on a female comics pro on the ascendance. Some of these women will be at the very beginning of their careers, while others will be more experienced but not yet “household names.”
Artist Chrissie Zullo got her break in comics via the DC Comics Talent Search in 2008 and has been working consistently ever since. She has worked for a variety of major comics publishers, including Archie, Dark Horse, IDW, and Vertigo, on covers and interiors for series including Cinderella: From Fabletown With Love, Fairest In All The Land, Womanthology: Space, Madame Xanadu and Life With Archie.
The official art book of Emerald City Comicon, Monsters & Dames is an annual release that invites a wide spectrum of talent to indulge their artistic idiosyncrasies in the name of charity, with proceeds from sales of the hardcover release and original art auctions having raised over $55,000 for Seattle Children's hospital. It's been a big week for Little Nemo. Following the announcement that IDW would be publishing new stories of Winsor McCay's classic creation, Locust Moon Comics, a retailer/publisher, has revealed plans for a Little Nemo anthology. Titled Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream, the title will feature contributions from an extremely impressive list of creators, including Bill Sienkiewicz, Becky Cloonan, Neal Adams, Paul Pope, Brandon Graham, Roger Langridge, Peter Bagge, Farel Dalrymple, J.G. Jones, Chrissie Zullo, Mark Buckingham, Jim Rugg, David Petersen, and many more. Locust Moon has released a few early pages from the project, which you can check out after the cut.
