The eighth night of Hanukkah is upon us, and we at ComicsAlliance still want to sincerely (if unintentionally retroactively) wish the very best to all of our friends, family and valued readers who celebrated the festival of lights. Thanks to the help of our own David Wolkin and the artistic prowess of Nedroid creator Anthony Clark, we've posted a special card commemorating the annual observance in the Considerably Compelling ComicsAlliance Custom.
Feel free to print or copy them and send to your friends so they'll know exactly how much you're thinking about them this holiday season!
Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man is kicking off a new season on Disney XD Sunday with a slightly modified title--it's now Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors--and, from the looks of these clips, a somewhat modified tone.
The two-part season opener, titled "The Avenging Spider-Man," will follow Spidey as he joins up with the Avengers to take on a whole bunch of villains including Loki, Doctor Octopus, Fin Fang Foom, and Attuma. Things go awry when Loki takes control of Spider-Man's body, and the whole affair simply seems less goofy than the show's previous efforts.
Next month, Otto Octavius will once again don the red-and-black tights and highly reflective lenses of his Spider-Man costume in Superior Spider-Man #32 by Dan Slott, Christos Gage, Giuseppe Camunicoli and Adam Kubert.
There's just one major problem with that: Octavius was inhabiting Peter Parker's body when he was Spider-Man, and Peter has that back now. He is the sole owner of his own body. So how in the world could the Doc Ock Spider-Man's title come back? The easy answer, of course, is simply "comics," but let's explore some of the possible explanations, shall we?
Diamond Select Toys unveiled a surprising amount of new Minimates and other figures this past weekend at C2E2 2014 in Chicago. Filling DST's booth were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates we saw at Toy Fair 2014 (but couldn't shoot at the time), along with the AllNew X-Men centric Marvel Minimates Series 59, an upcoming 8" Retro Captain America figure, and an upcoming Spider-Man villains Minimates box set.
It was never a matter of if, but when Peter Parker would come back. A year ago this week, Marvel launched Superior Spider-Man, a classic mind-swap story that saw Doctor Octopus switch minds with Peter Parker, then proceed to take over both his personal and heroic life. It was a pretty standard mind swap premise, but with a bit of a twist: shortly after Doctor Octopus forced the switch, his body -- which was now occupied by Peter Parker's mind -- died, seemingly giving the villain a final victory over his hated rival.
But it was never meant to last, of course. And today, Marvel has announced the anticipated return of Peter Parker as Spider-Man, with a new era for the character beginning in April's Amazing Spider-Man #1 by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, marking the return of the flagship title for the publisher's most popular hero.
After achieving a second season on Disney XD, the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series is getting its action figure due from Hasbro with a number of toy lines spanning multiple scales. There's a 3.75" line with "flex and fire" launching features, a core 6" action figure line with more articulated sculpts and in
Hey, remember that time Wolverine, the Hulk and Ghost Rider became permanent members of the Fantastic Four? Or when Superboy, the Eradicator, Cyborg Superman and Steel replaced the forever-dead Clark Kent? Or how Jean-Paul Valley remains Batman to this day? How about Ben Reilly and how relevant he remains?
Oh, you don't remember any of that? All that stuff got reversed within a few months? Well, let me recover my monocle out of my piping-hot tea, because that's apparently flabbergasting. If some fo
If your daughter desperately wants you to be a believable Doctor Octopus for Halloween, it sure helps to know a Mythbuster.
When Patton Oswalt tweeted that his daughter wanted him to accompany her Spider-Girl as Doctor Octopus this year, the always-helpful Adam Savage came through with an amazing getup that wouldn't break the comedian's back. Find out how after the jump!
Savage made it easier on Oswalt by placing the weight of
