Oni Press is opening up for submissions as of May 1st, which is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming creators. ComicsAlliance sat down with the entire Oni editorial team --- editor-in-chief James Lucas Jones, senior editor Charlie Chu, editor Robin Herrera, and associate editor Ari Yarwood --- to talk about what they're looking for and why they're doing open submissions. Here's a hint: it has a lot to do with getting diverse voices and diverse stories out into the world.

The Adult Swim animated series Rick And Morty is about as well-suited for a comics adaptation as anything on TV. It's got a psychopathic mad scientist, inter-dimensional adventures, and lots of teenage growing pains.
That's likely why the Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon-created series will be coming to Oni Press next year in a new comic written by Costume Quest: Invasion of the Candy Snatchers scribe Zac Gorman.
In January comic book and graphic novel publisher Oni Press will relaunch its website as a new webcomics hub, featuring free comics every week day. The material will include at least two brand new serials a week and a mixture of previously published comics. After the serials conclude they will be released in print as graphic novels. This long-in-the-works initiative was made official at Friday's Oni Press panel at New York Comic Con, where Editor-in-Chief James Lucas Jones spoke more about the publisher's new projects from creators including Cullen Bunn, Joëlle Jones, Joe Harris, Brian Churilla... and Chris Sims.
