Gift Guide: What To Buy Your Favorite Shipper Friends
When people get intensely into a fandom, they often develop strong feelings about characters. That emotional involvement can turn into shipping: "supporting or wishing for a particular romantic relationship" between characters, according to the ultimate fandom wiki Fanlore. This gift guide provides ideas for gifts for the shipper in your life across various fandoms. Of course, you may want to casually check who they ship before you buy anything!

Things Go Bump In The Night In 'My Monster Boyfriend'
It's Fantasy Week here at Comics Alliance, and many of my fellow CA contributors are writing about their favorite monsters. And I can respect that, but why would I choose one monster when I could highlight a book with lots of monsters instead? Especially when these monsters are all really, really sexy. Published by Iron Circus Comics and edited by C. Spike Trotman, Smut Peddler Presents: My Monster Boyfriend has ten short comics about monsters and the humans who love them. Its highly successful Kickstarter earlier this year (paired with the femdom erotica comic Yes, Roya) raised over $160,000. There is clearly a market for comics full of sexy monster boys, is what I'm saying.

What a week! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to sit back and read some comics. The weekend is finally here, and the world can relax and rest once more — but the comics industry has been busy too, you know, and the last seven days have seen a flurry of comics-based news and announcements fly past at high speed. New comics, new stories, new podcasts, new art being made — it’s all part of the ComicsAlliance Weekender!

Check Out the Highlights from Humble's IDW/Top Shelf Bundle
Over the past few years, the Humble Bundle has become a pretty reliable source for getting great comics at incredibly cheap prices, to the point where I finally had to sit down and read a bunch of comic books about robots that turn into cars because it just didn't make financial sense not to. This week, though, it looks like they're officially done fooling around. The current bundle, which runs through June 10th, finds Humble teaming up with IDW and Top Shelf to offer a massive amount of books.

Autobiographical comics aren't really my thing. I realize that this is limiting and that comics are more than just superheroes, but my love of the medium is kind of inextricably tied to my love of big action, weird adventures and, like so many other things I love, dudes in tights punching each other right in the face. Unless someone's autobiographical comic is truly exceptional, like Mike Dawson's

Top Shelf Announces Jess Fink’s ‘We Can Fix It: A Time Travel Memoir’
Time travel is an tricky adventurescape to navigate. Despite a hero or heroine's best intentions, they tend to leave a trail of bodies/fractured timelines/nearly-kissed mothers in their wake across fiction. Cartoonist Jess Fink, on the other hand, seems poised to avoid the pitfalls of her chronally displaced contemporaries in Top Shelf's upcoming graphic novel, We Can Fix IT...

Happy Valentine’s Day From The Internet’s Favorite Artists!
Valentine's Day is here at last, and that means that it's time to celebrate the people we love. Admittedly, most of the people we love are fictional vigilantes, but still: Romance is in the air. And for those of us looking for the perfect way to express it, a few of our (real) favorite people have cooked up some amazing Valentines...

Thought Bubble #3: Whither Genre Comics?
The comics medium attempts to answer a lot of big questions: Given great power, would you use it responsibly? What means are justified, when the ends are noble? If your life had a face, could I punch it? In that spirit, ComicsAlliance's Matt Wilson is asking comics creators, retailers and commentators some big questions of his own...
