Dynamite is rebooting the classic Gold Key comic, Magnus: Robot Fighter, and has released new covers from its upcoming Magnus. This new version is written by Kyle Higgins with art by Jorge Fornés, and we can recognize some key differences from the original right away. To start with, Magnus is no longer wearing a mini-dress. No big surprise there --- most reboots over the years have given him pants. But secondly, this take on Magnus is a woman.

Magnus Robot Fighter, Doctor Spektor, and Turok began as the stars of Gold Key Comics, a company that no longer exists. In the 1990s they found a home at the original Valiant Comics, but now they're published by Dynamite. And they're getting a shot in the arm, courtesy of The Sovereigns #0, a 48-page one-shot coming out in April that Dynamite has been teasing over the past couple of days. Priced at only $1, the book comes from creators Ray Fawkes, Johnny Desjardins, Aubrey Sitterson, Chuck Wendig, and Kyle Higgins.

Aside from their first initial, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Archie Andrews have never had all that much in common. That changed this week, when Dark Horse Comics released Archie Vs. Predator, and the alien big game hunter that menaced a dirty, sweaty, well-muscled cast lead by Schwarzenneger in the 1987 film Predator set his sites on Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and their quite killable gang. In film, Predators have been mostly content to hunt humans, and aliens from the Aliens franchise, across a series of five films — Predator, Predator 2, AVP: Alien Vs. Predator, Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem and Predators — but in comics, they've pursued and usually failed to obtain some pretty exotic skulls.

Joe, Brain Boy and Archer & Armstrong, managed to land himself two. Not only will he be part of Dynamite's Gold Key relaunch as the writer of Magnus: Robot Fighter, he'll also be taking over Dark Horse's Conan the Barb
