Of the casting additions to the Deadpool solo movie, we already know who pretty much everyone is playing. Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool (obviously), Morena Baccarin is Copycat, T.J. Miller is Weasel, and so on. There’s been just one question mark: who is former Game of Thrones star Ed Skrein playing in the film? We now have an answer.

‘Deadpool’ Adds Gina Carano and Colossus to Cast
Former mixed martial artist Gina Carano made a major splash in Hollywood with her debut film, Steven Soderbergh’s Haywire, where she was cast as a butt-kicking spy in a stripped-down, throwback action flick. The movie was cool and she was great in it, but it didn’t really launch her in the way Haywire fans wanted. Carano should be mixing it up with Jason Statham or Scott Adkins — heck, she should be the next Jason Statham or Scott Adkins — but it just hasn’t happened yet. She did have a small role in Fast & Furious 6, and she’s supposed to be in the new Kickboxer remake/reboot/rewhatever but she hasn’t come close to topping Haywire yet, where she beat the holy hell out of Michael Fassbender and choked out Ewan McGregor and was generally 110 percent awesome.

Ryan Reynolds has been trying to get a proper Deadpool movie off the ground ever since he helped botch the character in the deplorable X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Yeah, he says he has a genuine affinity for the character, but he also has to appease the ever-fickle movie gods, who punished him for his earlier comic book movie transgressions by putting him in Green Lantern. Making a Deadpool movie is how he restores order to the universe. Anyway, Reynolds took to Twitter to share our first glimpse of the Merc With a Mouth’s costume and even in this early state, it’s a significant improvement over the previous big screen version of the character.

Test footage from the unlikely-but-not-impossible Deadpool movie has been appearing and disappearing all over the Internet for the past few days, with a high-res version popping up on Vimeo (since deleted) and DailyMotion (the player above). Here's what we know about it: director Tim Miller and actor Ryan Reynolds made the two minutes or so of footage back in 2012 to convince 20th Century Fox to greenlight a film. It hasn't convinced them yet, and Reynolds has been less than optimistic about the movie's chances in recent interviews. Fans can assume that if there had been (or could be) a Deadpool movie, it would have looked a lot like this. There's a lot to like about what's in here, and a few things that seem to be missteps. Let's take a look.
