I wasn't expecting to see much past new Power Rangers toys when I visited Bandai America's booth at Toy Fair 2014, but I was straight up stoked when I rounded a corner to see its upcoming line of Banda Japan-designed SprüKits. What are SprüKits? Try all-new action figure model kits of Superman, Batman, Joker, Halo soldiers and more -- all available in several scales of size and complexity. Additionally, the SprüKits line is being used to import Bandai Japan's existing Danball Senki LBX figure kits.

Good news for fans of Kenner's legendary 1980s DC Comics action figures: Mattel is concluding the DC Universe Classics line with a fun Super Powers homage. This week at Toy Fair 2014, MattyCollector announced that it will be releasing a special DC Universe Super Powers figures this fall, reissuing figures from its 6" tall Four Horsemen-sculpted DC Universe line with some modifications and new colorways in Kenner's bright comic book-style spirit. But that's not all Mattel revealed at Toy Fair -- fans also got a look at Firestorm from the 5.25" tall Total Justice line and new info about a 7-pack of 4" Batman figures.
Kidrobot made good on its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles teasers in a big way this weekend at Toy Fair 2014 with a bodacious display of its three classes of upcoming vinyl figures. Rather than basing the toys off of the new Nickelodeon CG animated series or this summer's live action TMNT film, Kidrobot's toys are callbacks to the late 1980s and early '90s action figure designs popularized by Playmates and the 1987-1996 cartoon. The colors are bright, the sculpts are slick-yet-silly and the packaging is plainly radical.
Magic: The Gathering Planeswalkers Jace Beleren, Garruk Wildspeaker, Chandra Nalaar, Liliana Vess, Ajani Goldmane and Nissa Revane are jumping from paper cards to plastic toys later this year with a new Legacy Collection action figure line from Funko. Sculpted by Gentle Giant, the roughly 6" tall figures will feature more than 20 points of articulation and come packed with character-appropriate weapons and accessories. Hit the jump to check out the first proper display images of the figures from Toy Fair 2014.
It seems Hasbro's Constructbots are going to have some mix-and-match company later this year with the arrival of Transformers Mashers figures. The upcoming line of Autobot and Decepticon toys will be fully compatible with Marvel's new Super Hero Mashers figures and give fans the power to remix the robot modes of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Bulkhead, Springer and Drift, plus Dinobots Grimlock and Swoop.
Like robots that punch each other with the intended goal of knocking their opponent's head up a few notches? Like Transformers and Marvel Comics characters? Hasbro's got just what the mechanical chiropractor ordered with its upcoming line of Transformers and Marvel Super Hero Slam Battle Masters action figures and we've got video from Toy Fair 2014 demonstrating their mashy moves.
Diamond Select Toys had much to show at Toy Fair 2014, and while much of it couldn't be photographed (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Minimates! Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates!), there was still plenty to take in. Coming soon from DST and Art Asylum are all new The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Godzilla, Sin City and The Walking Dead Minimates. There was also a TMNT bottle opener and pizza cutter shaped like Michelangelo, because a party isn't a party without a certified Party Dude. You can check out a selection of what DST had on display after the jump.
Playmates had two showrooms at Toy Fair 2014: One for its toy line based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles CG animated series on Nickelodeon/the '90s TMNT movies, and one for toys based on the upcoming live action TMNT movie. One of these rooms didn't allow photography (and may or may have not involved taking a mutated blood oath to enter). So you can probably guess which room we focused our attention on! While there we got to see reimagined TMNT favorites like Slash, all new characters, 6" tall Retro Collector's Series versions of the '90s movie ninja brothers, roleplay toys, LARPing TMNT toys, cute new figures designed with young fans in mind, and more. Take it all in, after the jump.
Having spent enough to support a small child on Bandai's S.H. Figuarts action figure line, I was a bit relieved to see that Bluefin Tamashii Nations' Toy Fair 2014 booth was relatively relaxed in terms of never-before-seen figures. My relief didn't last too long, however, as I took in the big items from the show. Not only did we get a second, more fleshed-out look at the upcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us Batman, we also got to scope out a Shippuden-style Naruto and an articulated Michael Jackson in his Moonwalker getup.
Between its massive Hasbro and LEGO toy lines, Guardians of the Galaxy is the undisputed movie license of Toy Fair 2014. So it's no surprise that Funko has debuted some new GotG figures as part of its own sizable 3.75" tall Pop! Vinyl empire -- or that the usually four-character Pop! wave is extra big to accommodate the film's five heroes.
