The absence of Clint Barton in the hit mobile gaming app Avengers Academy has been somewhat of a running joke between fans and developers, but after being promised for so long the archer Avenger is finally joining the game. Unfortunately for him, he's signing up for class just as all of the robot practice dummies rebel as the villain of the new event is none other than the metallic menace of Ultron!

While we're big fans of TinyCo's Avengers Academy, it can be quite frustrating to put everything you have into unlocking a beloved character you've had your eye on, only to fall short before the end of the event and watch them vanish forever. Thankfully, the game's next event will bring back a host of recruitable characters from 2015 in its next event, as the villains break free and the students call in reinforcements.

This year, I've been more than a little bit obsessed with TinyCo's mobile superhero management game Avengers Academy. Its cute designs and fun scripts have been a bright light of superheroic fun, and its willingness to feature new and niche characters alongside A-list heavyweights has been a highlight of the gameplay experience. However, since the game's launch, there have been a number of characters fans have been clamoring to get their hands on, and now it seems a number of them are coming all at once, as Marvel and TinyCo have announced the December event will be themed around A-Force, bringing the likes of Captain Marvel, She-Hulk and Ms. America to the campus.

Avengers Academy is a hit mobile game where your favorite Marvel Comics characters are inexplicably reimagined as teenagers attending high school, and I am addicted to it. I’m not the only one, as the charming character designs and spot-on characterization of the students has millions of people playing. So why isn’t there an Avengers Academy comic?

If you've stuck it out with Marvel's mobile game Avengers Academy, you've likely been waiting very patiently for the promised story update that would bring new content, characters and areas of the map. As of today, those dreams have become reality, as it's confirmed that players will soon get access to The Incredible Hulk and the Gamma Zone. In an interview today on Marvel.com, Avengers Academy's Allen Warner reveals that the latest update will bring The Hulk and --- rather surprisingly --- Tigra to the game, as well as unlocking the Gamma Zone area of the map that has been off-limits since the game's launch. The addition of The Hulk is especially exciting for this particular reporter, as he is voiced by my hero and idol, the one and only John Cena.

Marvel and TinyCo's hit mobile game Avengers Academy has charmed fans with its fun and breezy approach to familiar characters and addictive gameplay. Recently the game finished the first act of its Spider-Man special event, which introduced Spider-Ham, Black Cat, Mary Jane Watson, The Lizard, Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin to the game, and today it's launching Act 2, which promises to be bigger and better.

Outside of a few family friendly exceptions, Marvel's video game catalog over the past few years has been decidedly mobile-focused. Currently, there are four different Marvel video games which can be found on iOS and Android devices almost exclusively, including this year's latest addition to the catalog, Marvel Avengers Academy. Back when I was just hitting the perfect age to be swept up into the Marvel Universe, there were two things that hooked me more than anything else. The first, of course, was the 1990s X-Men cartoon that seemed to be scientifically designed to get ten-year-olds to care about Wolverine and Gambit despite their hilarious voices, but the second was a black-and-white paperback reprinting four issues w
