Boom! Studios Expands Executive Lineup With An Eye Toward Movies And Multimedia
Boom! Studios has officially opened up shop on the 20th Century Fox lot, as per the publisher’s first-look deal with the studio, and has taken the opportunity to expand and reshuffle its executive offices.
Stephen Christy, who was the editor-in-chief at Archaia before Boom! acquired it last year, has shifted into the position of president of development for the publisher. Christy will now oversees all film, television, web and animation projects across Boom!, Archaia, KaBoom! and Boom! Box. The publisher has also hired Adam Yoelin will be Boom!’s senior vice president of film.
Yoelin comes to Boom from the Flynn Picture Co., where he was executive producer for the upcoming film Two Night Stand and co-producer on the thriller Solace.
Boom! founder and CEO Ross Richie called Yoelin “an invaluable, powerful addition to Boom!’s arsenal.”
Boom has been making major inroads into the world of movies over the past few years. Richie himself served as producer on 2 Guns, a film based on the 2007 Boom miniseries by Steven Grant and Mateus Santolouco. Upcoming films include a project based on Royden Lepp’s Archaia graphic novel Rust.
