Valiant High feels like something I accidentally wished into existence. Even putting aside the fact that I'm a huge fan of teenage superheroics and alternate universe stories about heroes and villains going to high school together, they would've had me hooked just with the phrase "Teenage Ninjak." And now, we're finally getting to see it. After being announced last year as part of Comixology's new line of digital-exclusive titles, the first issue of Daniel Kibblesmith and Derek Charm's Valiant High debuts next week, and you can report early for roll call with a seven page preview.

Ordinary blue-collar worker concerns may include low minimum wages or job automation. Repairman Logan Ibarra's concerns, however, aren't as ordinary; he just want to escape his night's last assignment without getting beheaded, assaulted by flowery parasites, or stabbed (any further). With nearly two years into its run, Tessa Stone's horror-comedy webcomic Not Drunk Enough is now set to be published as a trilogy by Oni Press. ComicsAlliance sat down with Stone to talk about Not Drunk Enough, claustrophobia, and the debatable merits of actually being drunk during a horror scenario.

'Superman' #18 Launches 'Reborn', Builds On 'Rebirth'
The threads left dangling in DC Rebirth are being picked up in Superman #18, written by Peter Tomasi with art by Patrick Gleason and Mick Gray. It's the first part of "Superman Reborn," a crossover running through Superman and Action Comics, and it sees the return of Mr. Oz, the mysterious figure who's been meddling in the DC Universe and kidnapping people who seem to have something to do with the pre-Flashpoint timeline.

Ted Sallis was trying to recreate the super-soldier, but he ended up transformed into a speechless monster who wanders the swamp. That's the origin of Man-Thing, but it's retold in this preview of Man-Thing #1 with a new pace and attitude, courtesy of legendary young adult horror novelist R.L. Stine and artist German Peralta. This is clearly a flashback, because the synopsis lets us know that the main story takes place in the present, with Man-Thing having regained the power of speech.

The Bats Swoop Down In 'Mother Panic' #3 [Exclusive Preview]
Mother Panic, by Jody Houser and Tommy Lee Edwards, is about a new character who fights criminals as a high-tech masked vigilante in Gotham City. She wears a cape and a helmet with pointed ears, but her outfit is white, and she's clearly unaffiliated with Batman and his allies. In fact, when the premise was initially revealed, nobody was really sure if this was the Gotham of DC's Batman books, or a whole different take on that world. However, it's been set-up since the first issue that the Bat-Family have become aware of Mother Panic's activities. And in this third issue, she and Batwoman come face to face, leading to a fight and some weird angry flirting.
