Most cats are afraid of water, but it appears Sanrio's Hello Kitty is a straight up sea captain on Star Cruises' specially-themed voyages departing from Singapore and Malaysia. While this news post would almost certainly have made a solid Holiday Gift Guide entry, we doubt many of you will be able to set sail aboard the SuperStar Virgo or the SuperStar Libra (...I had no idea cruise ships had such awesome names). Still, we must insist on detailing all of the fun most of us will surely miss out on while the cruises run through December 29.

The family cruises sound a bit like a floating Disneyland for Hello Kitty fans. Actors dressed in Hello Kitty, Dear Daniel, My Melody and Bad Batz Maru suits are hanging out at the pleasure of their fans for meet-and-greets, 25-minute "Karaoke TV Musical" shows, storytelling times, arts and crafts sessions, "Family Fun Time," and surprise on deck appearances. Those who want to splurge and even have breakfast and tea parties with Hello Kitty and her Sanrio buddies.

From what we can make of Star Cruises' booking portal, these adventures will cost fans a pretty penny -- especially if you factor in airfare from North America (or elsewhere), but provided any of our readers experience the holiday miracle required to set sail with their favorite feline, we wish you a purrrrfect time.
