If you already read Faith, then you've already seen Valiant's premiere heroine fighting off some of the biggest threats that the universe can throw at her: An invasion from the planet-conquering Vine, a demon int he form of a housecat, and even an actor who decided that being a supervillain was far more fun than playing one. But the good news is that Faith has only ever had to face them one at a time. Until now.

Jody Houser, Joe Eisma, and Marguerite Sauvage are teaming up the villains in "The Faithless," a new storyline debuting in April that finds Faith Herbert facing off with a gang of bad guys that all want revenge. And yes: Murder Mouse will be there. Check out the covers and a short interview with Houser below!

ComicsAlliance: Was creating a team of villains for Faith always the plan from the start, or did it just happen organically as the series went on?

Jody Houser: It was a bit more organic. Building up a unique rogues gallery for Faith was important, which was my focus early on. I always knew I wanted Chris Chriswell to come back, as he's one of my favorite characters I've ever created, but a villain team-up is definitely the way he would want to come back. So that was a big impetus for this story.

CA: Each of those villains represents a contrast with Faith herself --- Sydney Pierce, for instance, is all about deception and appearance, while Faith is defined by how genuine she is. What contrast do you get by teaming them all up together?

JH: Actually, I see it as less of a contrast and more of the villains finally using one of Faith's own methods against her. Even in her solo series, she's worked with others, both fellow heroes and her "muggle" friends. And if it works for the good guys, why not the bad?

CA: Along those same lines, from a character standpoint, what changes when you have to split the focus of Faith's character to deal with multiple villains?

JH: As someone who loves writing villains, I have to remember that I'm not writing a 12-issue maxi-series about them snarking at each other in a room. Seriously though, I love this evil ensemble and working on this story is more fun than anything else.

CA: This is Valiant's first-ever big villain team-up story. How important was it to make sure that this historic event also included a possessed kitty cat?

JH: It was very important to have Dark Star in the mix. He's a very evil cat.
