Greg Rucka joined the Image Comics panel on Sunday to discuss his and artist Michael Lark's upcoming Lazarus, first announced by Image Comics Editor-in-Chief Eric Stephenson at last year's San Diego Comic Con. Previously, only a a teaser image had been shown, but at yesterday's panel the publisher revealed the cover to Lazarus #1 and, instead of a typical preview, Image showed panel attendees a four page short story by Rucka and Lark that takes place in the world of Lazarus -- but will not be appearing in Lazarus #1 -- to give readers a glimpse of what to expect in the new series from the Eisner Award winning team.

This story represents the first artwork the publisher has revealed for the upcoming title, set to debut in June. It will appear in the April issue of Previews, but Image Comics has provided ComicsAlliance with a first look at the issue #1 cover and this four page story, and you can view both below.
