It looks like the good folks over at Mondo have been on quite a tear lately when it comes to cornering the market on comic book themed vinyl records. Just a few months ago at San Diego's Comic-Con International, they put out a limited edition Batman: The Animated Series soundtrack, and now, they've announced that they're following that up with a collectible edition of the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy.

If you've seen the movie -- and let's be real here, you have -- you'll probably recall that Star-Lord's "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" was not only a nice little plot point, but it gave the movie that extremely rare marriage of sci-fi adventure and '70s funk that made for a pretty awesome time. Mondo's version collects the full soundtrack, including David Bowie's "Moonage Daydream," Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," and, of course, Blue Swede's "Hooked On A Feeling," pressed on 180 Gram Purple Infinity Stone colored vinyl and wrapped up in a screenprinted cover by artist Tyler Stout.

In addition to the record itself, each copy of the Awesome Mix will include one of nine handbills by Stout, featuring the characters from the movie. Fortunately for you, you don't have to spend a minimum of $450 to see them all:

The record won't be shipping until early next year, but you can pre-order it now at Mondo for $50. Personally, I'm going to hold off until they release it on cassette tape. I'm just a purist like that.
