Although cosplay has been present for decades within the comics, anime, and sci-fi/fantasy fandoms, social media has played an integral role in the thriving communities of costuming that exist, such as Cosplay.com and the Superhero Costuming Forum. Over the years, the cosplay community has evolved into a creative outlet for many fans to establish and showcase some impressive feats of homemade disguise, craftsmanship, and sartorial superheroics at conventions. In honor of the caped crusaders of the convention scene, ComicsAlliance has created Best Cosplay Ever (This Week), an ongoing collection of some of the most impeccable, creative, and clever costumes that we’ve discovered and assembled into a super-showcase of pure fan-devoted talent.

Legendary Announces 'Pacific Rim' Comic and More
Here's the good news, Pacific Rim fans: A new Legendary Comics series titled Tales from the Drift, with a story by screenwriter Travis Beacham, script by Joshua Hale Fialkov and art by Marcos Marz, is coming. The announcement of the new series came Wednesday, along with news of two other titles debuting this fall, including a new spy book by writer Chris Roberson and artist JB Bastos, and a crime comic by writer Steven Grant and artist Pete Woods.

Shatterdome Atlanta Is A New 'Pacific Rim' Convention
If you saw last year's Pacific Rim, then you probably recall that all the giant monster-fighting robots were housed Shatterdomes, sprawling bases that were all set, as the title implies, around the Pacific Ocean. But when you consider the time frame of the movie and the amount of time it spends on explaining the research that humanity had to do to figure out exactly what was going on with all these kaiju, it's easy to imagine that they probably would've built a few East Coast Shatterdomes as well, just in case. Of course, given that all those monsters were, in fact, coming from the Pacific, the folks on those East Coast Shatterdomes would've had an awful lot of free time. And now they're using it to throw a convention. Or at least, that's my theory on how Shatterdome Atlanta, a one-day convention for Pacific Rim fans being held tomorrow down in Georgia, came to be.
