Superhero movies are a dominant force in modern blockbuster cinema, but with so many heroes appearing on our screens it can be tough to keep up with the release calendar.

To help make it a little easier for superhero fans to know which weekends to keep free over the next few years, designer Dylan Todd has created this infographic featuring all the upcoming releases from Marvel Studios, Fox, Sony, Warner Bros and more, starring characters from the DC Universe, the Marvel Universe, the X-Men books, Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Valiant Universe, and more.

The Delinquents: A Beginner’s Guide to ‘Bloodshot’ and ‘Harbinger Wars’

Delinquents-bloodshot

Valiant Comics‘ shared superhero universe is smaller and less familiar than those of its major rivals, but even a small shared universe can offer a lot to learn about. To help those readers looking to take the plunge into the Valiant Universe, we’ve assembled our own team of delinquents to break things down. Steve Morris knows Valiant inside out; J.A. Micheline is new to the universe. Micheline has the questions, and Morris has the answers.

Last time, JAM was champing at the bit to talk about Harbinger, one of the flagship titles of the Valiant Universe. This time, she and Steve are back to finish out the Harbinger Wars and talk about Bloodshot, the Jason Bourne of the comics world!

For the next assignment, he set JAM homework of the first two volumes of the superpowered team-book Harbinger, one of the flagship titles of the Valiant Universe — and now they’re back to talk about it!

The Delinquents: A Beginner’s Guide to the Valiant Universe

Delinquents-1

When it comes to shared comics universes, most people turn their mind straight to Marvel and DC, publishers that have mastered the concept over several decades. But a few years ago, Valiant Comics came roaring back, relaunching themselves for a contemporary audience, and providing a simpler superhero universe to get to grips with. Yet even a small shared universe can feel like a lot to learn about, and readers may have held back from taking the plunge.

To help those readers whose curiosity has been piqued, we've assembled our own team of 'delinquents' to break things down. Steve Morris knows the Valiant Universe inside out; J.A. Micheline is completely new to the universe. Micheline has the questions, like what exactly is a "psiot", and who is that bloke in the blue and yellow helmet, and why is everybody so afraid of a goat; and Morris has answers. We hope.

Valiant Gives Zephyr A Solo Shot With Four-Issue ‘Faith’ Miniseries

Faith00

After more than 20 years as a member of the Harbinger team, fan-turned-superhero Faith Herbert, better known as Zephyr, is finally taking a starring role in the form of a four-issue mini-series from writer Jody Houser and the art team of Francis Portela and Marguerite Sauvage, and it's pretty exciting news.

It's always fun to see a genre-savvy character taking on a role as a superhero, but kicking off a new series with a focus on building up Faith's civilian life --- which, according to the solicitation, seems to be heading in the direction of a job writing about cats for a Buzzfeedesque website --- has a whole lot of potential to add a new dimension to Valiant's growing world of superheroics.

Everyone’s Going To Die In ‘Book Of Death: The Fall Of Harbinger’ But On The Bright Side, There Are Robots [Preview]

BOD00

With a title like Book of Death, I don't think anyone really expected Valiant's big crossover to be a cheerful affair, but jeez, things are starting to get pretty grim for the future of the Valiant Universe. Like, really grim. Like everyone on Earth is going to die from the psychic impact of the most powerful superhuman who ever lived returning to the planet from a journey out into space where he transcended his physical form.

But on the upside, there's a robot named for the legendary soul musician and composer of the Super Fly soundtrack Curtis Mayfield, so hey, at least we've got that going for us. For the rest of the bad news though, read on for a preview!

Building A Universe: A Guided Tour Through The Inner Workings Of Valiant Comics

Header

Since their first tiles appeared on comic-shop shelves in 2012, the resurrected Valiant Comics has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Their new take on the characters and mythology of the original 1990s Valiant line, their pursuit of top-shelf creators, their focus on storytelling and world-building, and their gift for unorthodox marketing and promotion has drawn praise from both fans and press, led to a film development deal with Sony, and won scores of industry awards (and award nominations). They've proven themselves to be not just cashing in on past glories, but a company that's capable of pushing their stable of characters in new and exciting directions while remaining true to their roots.

Valiant’s ‘Book of Death’ to Skip Ahead To The End

bod-feat

While other superhero comics publishers are mining their pasts for big crossover events this spring and summer, Valiant is blasting ahead into the future, specifically, its characters' end times.

The new, four-issue event series Book of Death, written by Robert Venditti and with art by Robert Gill and Doug Braithwaite, promises to reveal how characters including Ninjak, Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, Toyo Harada and others will bite it, be redeemed, be replaced, or otherwise change in the future.
