Best Art Ever (This Week) – Superman 75th Anniversary Edition
We make a regular practice at ComicsAlliance of spotlighting particular artists or specific bodies of work, but because cartoonists, illustrators and their fans share countless numbers of great images on sites like Flickr, Tumblr, DeviantArt and seemingly infinite art blogs that we've created Best Art Ever (This Week), a weekly depository for just some of the pieces of especially compelling artwork that we come across in our regular travels across the Web. Some of it's new, some of it's old, some of it's created by working professionals, some of it's created by future stars, some of it's created by talented fans, and some of it's endearingly silly. All of it's awesome. In honor of this year's 75th anniversary of the first appearance of Superman and this weekend's release of Man of Steel, we present for the second time a compilation of some of the coolest portraits of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's brilliant creation that we've highlighted in this feature over the last few years. We know it's cheating but we didn't count on going away for a month and then coming back in the middle of a big media event. All-new next week evermore.

The front cover of Relish: My Life in the Kitchen, the new memoir by Lucy Knisley of French Milk fame, bears a pretty killer blurb from Alison Bechdel, whose years of Dykes to Watch Out For and her breakout hit Fun Home have made her something akin to the grand dame of memoir comics: "Step aside, Joy of Cooking...

If you expected Adventure Time's protagonist and noted last human on Ooo to adopt better bathing habits just by virtue of getting gender-swapped, you'd better think again. This week's Adventure Time With Fionna & Cake #2 backup by Lucy Knisley demonstrates that not only is Fionna's monster-slaying spirit the equal of her male counterpart Finn's - so too is her stench after failing to prioritiz

It's always bittersweet when a beloved mini-series wraps up, and Boom! Studios' Adventure Time: Marceline and the Scream Queens #6 is no exception. Fortunately for fans, the final issue in the mini only amps up the radness with a concluding tale by series writer and artist Meredith Gran and this issue's backup story by Rich Tommaso...

As much as I've enjoyed Ryan North, Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb's main story, one of the most fun parts of the Adventure Time comic from Boom! Studios has been the backup stories. For the second issue, Adventure Time has turned to the incredible Lucy Knisley, the creator of French Milk and Stop Paying Attention, for another Untold Tale of Finn and Jake...

‘Where They Draw’ Takes You Inside Cartoonists’ Workspaces
I've never thought the eyes were the window to the soul so much as the desk is. After all, the way a person treats their workspace says a lot about them. Do they work in a cheerful, brightly lit space filled with plants and knick-knacks? Or have they carved out chaotic office spaces amid collapsing towers of paper...

Making comics under any circumstances requires a certain amount of focus, but autobiographical travelogues can be an especially challenging undertaking. Creators have the burden of lugging around equipment and must balance living in the moment with detailing their experiences to ensure accuracy and sincerity in their work...
