'One Piece Film: Gold' Is Coming To US Theaters In January
I am woefully behind on my attempt to catch up with all 81 volumes of Eichiro Oda's One Piece, but I always understood this to be a series about, you know, pirates. Like, people who sail around on boats doing boat stuff and occasionally docking to have ridiculously weird super-powered pirate fights, many of which would also involve boats. But I guess you eventually have to stop being on a boat sometime, at least for a little while, and in One Piece Film: Gold, they're heading to the city-sized casino that is Gran Tesoro for an all-new anime adventure --- and it's coming to theaters in America from January 10 to 17.

On The Cheap: Best Bets For The Viz Manga 'Shonen Jump' Sale
This week, Viz and Comixology launched what is probably the most overwhelming digital comic sales since... well, since last month, I guess, when someone decided that it was a good idea to put literally every Dark Horse comic on sale for half off. This time, its's a sale on action manga from Shonen Jump, featuring almost a thousand volumes, including popular series like Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto and Eichiro Oda's One Piece, but it's going fast. The sale ends tomorrow.

20 Awesome Covers From Classic 'Shonen Jump'
It's no exaggeration to say that Shonen Jump is one of the cornerstones of manga. Since it started in 1968, the weekly anthology has given rise to some of the biggest titles in manga history, including One Piece, Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, and more -- and, judging by the covers, an awful lot of stories about baseball. And I know that, because I just spent a good amount of time browsing an incredible Flickr gallery from Sao Paolo, Brazil's Kami Sama Explorer Museum, where they've collected a massive amount of covers from Shonen Jump's 46-year history, going from the first issue in July of 1968 all the way up to 2009. It's fantastic to see them lined up next to each other, because you can see the evolution of some of the most dominant styles in manga as you browse through, but there are also a lot of really great individual covers. So before you head over and take a look at the full gallery, check out 20 of my favorites below!
