At New York Comic Con, we got the first look at Super7's take on the Masters of the Universe, which it took up from Mattel last year. Though many of the first wave were characters we'd seen before, the next few waves look to have even more deep cuts from the subscription service previously under Mattel's command. As strong as those Four Horsemen-designed figures look, Super7 had even more interesting products on display, including a rare Jack Kirby character getting his first toy ever.

Titan Reveals New 'Robotech' Art For Upcoming Series
I think it's pretty clear at this point that I am super into both giant transforming robots and epic battles in outer space. But despite the fact that I'm squarely in the Venn diagram for the appeal, I've never really gotten into Robotech. It always seemed like something that I missed my chance to really dive into when I was younger. But now, it looks like I'm getting another chance. Thursday night at San Diego Comic Con, Titan Comics showcased art for its planned Robotech comics series in partnership with Harmony Gold USA, with pieces from Caspar Wijngaard, Luis Guerrero, Mariano Laclaustra, and Antonio Fuso. We don't know anything else at this point, but while we try to untangle the mysteries of the new Robotech series, we at least have some pretty art to look at.

‘Furious 7’ Filmmaker James Wan Will Direct ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Robotech’
Furious 7 is the fourth highest grossing movie of all time. Ever. In film history. Number four, after Avatar, Titanic, and The Avengers. $1.5 billion at the box office and counting. A lot of the credit for that success goes to its longtime stars and creators who’ve kept the franchise running for 15 years through highs and lows. But some of the credit also goes to James Wan, who stepped in to direct the film after longtime franchise steward Justin Lin left the series, and who managed to keep the movie and its crew together following the tragic death of star Paul Walker. He delivered a really satisfying Fast & Furious that simultaneously served as a lovely tribute to Walker. It was an incredibly difficult job, and Wan nailed it.

"Futurama" and "Simpsons" comics may be part of artist Jason Ho's day job with Bongo, but his private sketch blog is stocked with stylized renditions of "Doctor Who," "Robotech" and many other characters that would be right at home in their own Saturday morning animated series - not that "Robotech" needs a new look...
