New Nova, Sauron, Shanna The She-Devil Coming In Marvel Minimates Series 51

Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum have had a pretty busy week announcing all kinds of upcoming Minimates, but especially those of the Marvel variety. Following the image reveal for the 50th series of Marvel Minimates, DST and AA have unveiled their 51st batch of characters, nearly all of which are first-timers in the line. Set to arrive later this year, the 51st series will pack Spider-Man with new Nova Sam Alexander, Shanna the She-Devil with Savage Land villain Sauron, Nick Fury Jr. with Heavy S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and comic book Maria Hill with Heavy SHIELD Agent (in a variant pack).

Even though there's more than 50 Spidey Minimates already, the new figure should play nicely with the new Nova since the characters work as a team on Disney XD's current Ultimate Spider-Man animated series. Shanna, Sauron and Nick Fury Jr. are also welcome sights, especially considering this is their first time getting the Minimates treatment.

Maria Hill joins a previously-released Avengers movie version of the character based on the likeness of actress Cobie Smulders, but the 616 iteration of the character pairs well with the new Heavy S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and the previously released standard S.H.I.E.L.D. agent from series 43. Add in the Ultimate S.H.I.E.L.D. agent from series 27 and fans should have a sizable enough squad to fill a very, very, tiny Helicarrier.
