Justice Offers Up A Holiday Bribe In '2000 AD' #2011 [Preview]
I'm usually a little wary of cynicism in my Christmas stories, but let's be real here: When you're heading to Mega City One to read about Judge Dredd, you really have to adjust your expectations on what qualifies as "cynical." If you can get away with only expecting the worst in the future-shocked citizens of the distant future, then you're actually not in bad shape, all things considered. By those standards, the annual Christmas issue of 2000 AD is downright festive, leading with a story where the Justice Department decides that the best way to cut down on holiday crime is to just straight-up pay the citizenry to be good. It's one of several new offerings in the extra-sized prog 2011, and you can check out a preview!

Grant Morrison And The Great Work
In magical practice, the term magnum opus has a different meaning than in popular context. Latin for "the Great Work," its been used since the early alchemists, and taken on various shades of metaphorical meaning through different traditions, but they're all essentially referring to the same thing: the total actualization of one's will, and the creation of the idealized self. Grant Morrison, the most inventive writer in comics, has been at it for a while now.

The last we heard about Boom! Studios' new Big Trouble In Little China comic was back in February, when the publisher wasn't revealing much more than an Eric Powell-drawn teaser image that didn't even show Jack Burton's face. Now, Boom is showing off a lot more in advance of the first issue's June release. Namely, a slew of covers by Powell, Joe Quinones, Chris Weston, Terry Dodson and Emi Yonemur

Some of it’s new, some of it’s old, some of it’s created by working professionals, some of it’s created by future stars, some of it’s created by talented fans, and some of it’s endearingly silly. All of it’s awesome.

Though Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli) walked away from directing the Warner Bros.-helmed live action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira manga and anime, it seems that considerable storyboarding work was done under his leadership. As we saw in Monday's release of storyboards by artist Jeffrey Errico, it turns out that the film would've featured sequences much more faithful to Otomo's work than
